EDIT: and its dead again and all i did was plug in the hdd, ill setup my old rig again and take my mini itx rig to the store and let them take a look at it.

I will do one last post to let you guys know what was the cause when i get back.

Since there is no speaker in the box, i can only guess that you got a lemon (RMA) and someone else kept the speaker, Asus are always good at providing all the extra stuff you need like a speaker.

I might watch linus unboxing video to see if he found a speaker with it. could be wrong but the more into were getting it sounds like it could be a lemon.

don't know that computer store so i can't say what there like.

if you can i would RMA that board, i mean its basically the best m-itx board you can get some something is wrong and Asus will support you,.

got to love Asus components

"Speakers" don't normally come as a separate item with a motherboard. Either the motherboard will have a small "beeper" mounted directly on it, or the case will come with a speaker.  In many cases these days, it's possible to get both without one.

A sieve may not hold water, but it will hold another sieve.
