Free remote desktop app that can access both on LAN and online?

In a nutshell, I made a NAS using an old laptop, only with 1 TB HDD on it, with Windows 10 Home 1903 (I only got the iso of that version, nyeh it works anyway).

Stupidly I didn't realize that remote desktop only available on Pro edition, and I don't want too much hazzle to re-install the whole thing (or update), again.

 

Well, as stated on the title, the good-one remote desktop app that I can control via LAN when I don't have internet, but it could work online too. I could use TeamViewer, but afaik it only available when I'm online, yet doesn't work on LAN.

Look at some VNC products. You might need to run two - one for local, one for over the net.
