Hyper 212 EVO thermal paste question

I asked if it was safe to use liquid metal compounds on it, but Amazon removed my question, so I ask here, can I safely use liquid metal with this thing?

I have the OG 212 EVO (not the new version),and the cold plate is basically just bare copper heat pipes

yet parts of the base plate, including where hardware mounts are, are aluminum.  You wouldn't know there was damage until the entire cooler gave out.

I have an old 212 too, and there is definitely aluminum on the outside of those copper heat pipes.
