I replied on the following topic

But I am also looking to go back to Linux to follow along Linus and Luke, I last ran Ubuntu in 2019 and about 2 months later switched back to Windows.

Currently my top 3 options are:

Pop

Fedora

Ubuntu

Out of the 3 I am leaning more towards Pop.

For yourself it really depends on use and personal experience, I have never heard of MX Linux myself.

These are the specs of my computer, I already know it's ancient but I mostly browse the web use WPS Office.

The games that I play are all playable on Linux through Wine which aren't fast pace games.

I play city building games and civilization type of games.

I also know that some distro will have a hard time running on these low specs.

I used MX Linux and It's fantastic . Actually, I sarted distro hopping again after running Solus for years.

I document all my views on Substack

the catch up article is a collection of 3 articles I wrote before starting the Substack account.

I'll be for sure reading the your articles but you have been using MX Linux for how long. And would you suggest Solus with me specs I have for my computer?

Unless you have a reason to switch or you just like distro-hopping, I'd stick with MX Linux if it's what you're familiar with. The differences between Linux distros are usually pretty minimal and what you can do in one distro you can normally do in most others.

That being said, if you do want to switch then Pop!_OS or Linux Mint would be my two suggestions since they're since the same tree as MX Linux (based on Debian). OR OpenSUSE Tumbleweed if you really want to go nuts and want to tinker with something new 🙂

Nicely said you, saying that I think I would stay with the same distro and try to changing the skin or environment. Maybe in the future or when I get more time I will give openSUSE a try.
