So I've had my pc for almost a year now and up until just about 2 months ago, my fps in minecraft was 600+, and with shaders 140+. One day I booted up my system normally, loaded minecraft, and noticed my fps had drastically dropped to 60-70, going as low as 30 at times. This didn't happen just in minecraft, but in many other games like fortnite, rocket league, and csgo. My specs are: Ryzen 7 3700x, 16gb ram, 850w power supply, 2tb ssd, and an RTX 2070. I've spent well over $2500 on the system and I dont expect the fps to be so low. All of my drivers are also fully up to date. I've tried everything to increase my fps, but nothing works. Is there any fix?

Are you running any sort of mods??? Have you used DDU to reinstall the graphics drivers??

I'm using sodium on fabric and just a shader plugin so I can actually use shaders. And no, I use GeForce experience to install my graphics drivers.

I'd recommend using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely wipe the graphics drivers and reinstall again to see if the issue goes away.

When I had a RTX 2080, I never used GeForce Experience and always opted to not install.

I tried to do that once when I started to get the issue, it sort of worked, but the fps never got back up to what it was before, i'll try it nonetheless.

Alright, I tried it, the fps didn't increase at all, so i'm really stumped at this point. Could the issue be hardware related and not software?

I doubt this is a hardware issue if you were able to achieve that high FPS before. This would be more of a software issue to me if you're not thermal throttling. Speaking of which, how are your temperatures??

Check the Windows power plan settings. You might also wanna check your Nvidia control panel settings for anything obviously wrong.

Definitely check for power management, especially Nvidia drivers under Manage 3D settings and check [Power management mode] and set to high performance.

My temps are not going past 43 degrees celsius. And I have set power management mode to maximum performance, the fps increased by ten, maybe 20, but still not getting any higher than 210, which is confusing.
