Hey guys, I was wondering if I could get some assistance with this question of mine.
How would I go about switching out my CPU for a newer model I would like to purchase at the end of the year?
I believe that my motherboard has support for the CPU I want in question but I wanted to know if its as easy as switching out cpu's and turning it back on. Could I get some tips or assitance doing that?

I have:
ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING - Motherboard
Ryzen 5 3600 - CPU
MSI Ventrus 3x RTX 3070 OC - GPU
32GB @3600hrz - RAM
2x Samsung Evo 500GB SSD and 1x 1TB Baracuda 7200RPM - Storage

Noctua NH-U12 - Fan
Cooler Master 80+ Gold 650w - Power Supply

I would like to swap out my 3600 for a Ryzen 7 5800x and also have enough power to easily support an upgrade of this kind as well. I would really appricate any advice I can get!

I would try putting the new cpu in (5800X) and see if it had any problems with the 650W. If it would be doing a thing like shutting down out of nowhere or anything like that then i would buy a better power supply (700 or 750W).

Yes, thats what I plan to do but will I need to like update anything or configure anything new to put in a whole different CPU? Or can I just swap it out easily and it will just read it as a new CPU

Yes, you will need to update the bios to the newest version BUT be careful, if you update your board with the wrong model for the bios your board will be doomed. Good luck!

You should check your bios version in bios first. You might not need a bios flash if your board is already on a version that supports it.

Assuming you mean the asus board in your desciption instead of the msi, this is the bios download page.
1004 is the earliest bios version that supports the 5000 series.

LOL

Yes I meant the Asus one haha. I'll restart my pc and check the bios version. So ur saying if it's at least that version or better, I can just swap it out of the socket and replace it with the 5800x and it should work just fine?

Awesome just checked, my bios version is 1004. So I can just swap it out and it will work? Will I need to configure anything else?
