ASUS ROG STRIX G731GU Bios Password Lockout

I can't get past this BIOS password. So far, after I removed the Admin Password for the BIOS, there was a USER Password beneath it. I have removed the CMOS battery, the main battery, but can’t clear this password.

What doesn’t work-

  • Hitting ANY keys (F2-F12, nada)
  • Holding ALT+R (nope)
  • Typing wrong password 3 times (just locks up)
  • Booting from USB- can’t get into boot menu

Any help is appreciated!

It is against forum policy to help unlock passwords.

Is that a new update? I never got warned for it previously.

OP: You cannot remove bios password with just removing cmos battery for the devices made in the last 10 years. You have to reflash the bios using a programmer, if you dont have a CH340G, SOIP8 adapter, and another computer you can use to flash the bios. You are SOL.

It's against forum policy to ask for it.

 

This is like helping someone that has potentially stolen hardware and thus the reason for the rule.

Yeah gonna need confirmation on that sentence, I dont see making assumptions about the legitimacy of how a hardware was obtained not under CoC. Otherwise, "Innocent until proven otherwise".
