  • i9 -9900K, stock/auto settings in BIOS

  • Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Ultra Board

  • MSI RTX 2060

Here's what happened:

I recently clean installed Windows as I do every so often. No issues right? Only thing I've done differently is ran TRIM and did a firmware update on my SSD, directly from WD on their program. Had no issues after that either.

I come home from work today and turn on PC. It goes to blue screen and says a required device cannot be accessed or something. I try restarting to no avail. I then see that my BIOS had been reverted to an old version. I am assuming this is my backup from Dual Bios. I also see that CSM support is enabled on backup bios. I disable this and could then boot to Windows.

I then cleared CMOS bat and found that I went back to newer version of BIOS, I'm guessing it switched back the main. All is fine now other than lights on the board changed to default colors, no biggie.

My question is, should I be concerned? Is this an issue I should look into replacing anything for? And what could have caused this?

Atleast undervolt it if you dont overclock since intel mobos uneccessarily overvolt the sht out of the cpus (undervolt will make your cpu run cooler)

Try 4.8 all core with 1.25 or 1.3v vcore

I dont think its a corrupted bios, you prob just misconfigured something, though if you ever run into a corrupted bios i suggest buying a cheap usb programmer like ch341a for ~4$ (w clip), a literal life saver if you run into a corrupted bios though i havent had much success with the clip, i use mine for flashing better bioses on my boards

I mean I have DualBios and was able to get back to the main and it seems repaired. Current version and all that. I highly doubt I'd ever run into a completely dead board with that feature. I'm just wanting to make sure I shouldn't be concerned that it was caused by anything serious, or if it was just a one-off. I didn't really change much in the way of configuration. Probably wouldn't matter much now since I can't afford to replace any parts if that was the problem lol
