Ok , what was the old RAM, you said you changed that?

I think its either RAM or motherboard at this point, but thats the "joy" of troubleshooting,  you're going to have to change out parts to find the culprit,  unfortunately.

I few days ago I got a misterious problem with either my CPU or my MoBo (https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/prdb3f/pc_stuck_at_asus_screen/) so I replaced both with a Ryzen 5 5600G and a ASROCK A520M-ITX/ac that I needed a BIOS update to work, updated to the lasted version (1.8).

Now I having problems with BSODs every 5 minutes or so, sometimes as soon as I log in. Most of the code as MEMORY_MANAGEMENT, but there were also KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILED, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA, IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED and SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (not so sure about the last two).

I replaced both sticks of memory, it solved for a while. Than I ran a Windows Memory Diagnostic and no problem was found. So I don't know what to do now.

OneDrive link to DUMP files (https://1drv.ms/u/s!AqZkTTweAkoThJQnJvCMFk_1TCsMKw?e=xnEHFs). Besides having tens of BSODs, there was only a few files.

Note: When logging in to get the dump files I got a graphical glitchand it the screen froze. Rebooted and was normal, but the Sleep option was missing. I remembered that I updated the graphics driver, downloaded the lastest one for my CPU from AMD.

The specs are:

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G

GPU: None

Motherboard: ASROCK A520M-ITX/ac

Memory: 2x Corsair Vengeance LPX 4GB DDR4 2400MHz C16 (without AMP enabled)

OS: Windows 10 Home

SSD: Cricual MX500 500GB

Optical Drive: Asus M DISK (?)

PSU: Corsair CS550M

Thanks!!

What PSU?

And you switched from Intel to AMD without fresh windows install?

Just to be clear,  its possible, but then you need to uninstall all intel drivers (chipset , etc) *before* doing the switch and there is still no guarantee it'll work without issues.

So you can try that (I probably wouldn't with a pc that bsods all the time) or do a fresh windows install, maybe on a new drive so you can copy the stuff you want to keep from your old drive *later*.

Definitely remove the old os drive first though when you install windows.

I'll do that then. The Intel system crash (probably motherboard died, but could be the CPU) so no way of uninstalling drivers beforehand or reverting to Intel to do so.

I don't have a second drive, but I managed to make a backup between BSODs (yes, it was hell, but fortunatelly, there not much stuff in this PC) so I will use it. It's fine right? I mean, it's just files. Otherwise, I'll need to install Windows without erasing any files, but I don't think that counts as a clean install, but would be ideal.

In anyway, I can't remove the OS drive since I don't have another, would this still be fine?

Yeah that sounds good and no it's fine, i was just saying in case you use a new drive... just format the old drive then when you install windows, there's an option for that.

Yeah, exactly,  it needs to be a full fresh install, that's the point.

Ok , what was the old RAM, you said you changed that?

I think its either RAM or motherboard at this point, but thats the "joy" of troubleshooting,  you're going to have to change out parts to find the culprit,  unfortunately.

The old system had 4x4GB of RAM, since this is a ITX system, I'm only using 2x4GB, I changed the RAM but within the same set, just one pair for the other. But I ran the Windows Memory Diagnostics and found no problems.

For RAM, the only option I have now is using the sticks I have on my main PC (2x8GB) that I know 100% that is working. But only on the weekend now.

If it's not the RAM, would it definitely be the motherboard? Or could still be the CPU? Is it worth trying an older BIOS?

There's no way to tell but it seems likely, as I said that's the fun with troubleshooting,  you wont know until you found the broken part(s).

I replaced the RAM with the one of my main PC and it worked all afternoon without a single BSOD, I used a single stick, tried both slots on the motherboard. So it was definitely the RAM. What is odd is that it passed the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool.

So from my old old system (the on from the reddit post) I ended up with a dead motherboard (probably, might be the CPU or both) and at least some of my RAM sticks... wonder what caused it all.
