PSU Wattage Recommendation

l_zheng101

Hey guys. I recently got my hands on a 3080 (Newegg shuffle finally came through). I've been itching for a power supply upgrade as well (mainly to a fully modular one). I am currently running a 750 watt unit from EVGA. Is 750 watts more than plenty to run a 3080 and an i7 8700K?

If it's 750W bronze unit, It might not be able to power 3080 well enough.

If you have enough money, Get good 850W PSU, Such as Seasonic focus gold or something like this.

What exact model? Some models have issues with RTX 3000.

If you want a good PSU, don't buy a Seasonic with RTX 3000. To much issues. Corsair RMx 2018/2021, Fractal Design ION+, Super Flower Leadex III and XPG Core Reactor for example, are flawless.

I'm probably gonna go with the Corsair RM850x.

The efficiency rating has nothing to do with how well the unit can power a system.
