Budget (including currency): approximately $4000 AU

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: beamng drive, apex, battlefeild 2042, titanfall 2

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

the whole point of this whole build is to not touch it for the next 3 - 5 years

I don't know what your list is, But I made this:

https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/NvPDGq

I noticed 6800XT is priced around same as 3070, While 6700XT is priced around 600 AUD cheaper than 3070, But 6700 XT somewhat ties to 3070, While 6800XT is much faster.

Build looks good and will work really well for the games you play! If you're looking for a 3-5 year build, I would lean towards the 10900f or 5900X for the CPU and the 3080/3080TI (3090 if you can stomach it) for the GPU. Only for AAA games though. If you're going to play mainly FPS games, I think your current set up will work for what you need.

You literally could have just replied and edited your old thread, you know that right?

Go 3080, if you must have 1440p Ultra.  It'll get more games there then the 6900XT.

Pro level SSD is a total waste of money for gaming, especially the 250GB size for $99.

6900xt is faster card and both can game any existing game at 1440p, Even 4K is not a problem.

It depends on price, If 6900xt is cheaper, He should get it. If price is around same, It's matter of debate, While 6900XT is better for only gaming, 3080 have more features and is also better for editing/streaming/mining.

But for only gaming, 6900xt is better due to having more Vram and being overall faster card, It's also better for 4K gaming, Also for having more Vram.
