Chrome dark mode disappeared overnight?

Hopefully this is the right spot to post this, 

I woke up today to find that my chrome search results are back to light theme after seeing the pop up a few months ago to use dark theme. I know chrome didnt update overnight so what happened to this feature?

Finally found a post about this, you can change it by going, 

search anything in chrome > top right cog > search settings > appearances > dark theme. 

Still not sure how it disappeared overnight but there you have it.
