System fans

I really have no understanding of those things whatsoever, hence I'm asking this. Why doesn't the RPM of System fan 1-3 ramp up when the CPU is under more load? And What exactly is the 'CPU OPT FAN' Something is plugged in on the 'CPU OPT FAN', I think I connected something of my CPU liquid cooler there.

why would system fans ramp up because of the CPU? the CPU fans should ramp up if that happens, which is why you plus them into the CPU fan header and the others into the others.

Why do the specs of my Corsair sp120 fans say '2400 rpm' then? When will they ramp up to a 2400rpm ?

When they are under heavy load, the will speed up to keep everything cool?

They don't, I just stress tested and bechmarked the CPU, the rpm didn't change, only the cpu cooler ramps up

Well then they don't need too then. Only reason why my case fans change speeds for me is cause i have a fan controller. Your cpu fans should always change in speed as it depends on how much load it is under. If the other fans are plugged into your psu for example they will just spin at max rpm and not change.

I can manually set the RPM of my System fans, and the CPU fan obviously changes in speed whenever the CPU is under load.

Ok so what is the problem? If they are plugged into your mobo you can change it in bios.

Sys fans spin at constant rpm which is bit under (I'd say 200rpm) rated max. You can set them to follow CPU fans curve with software like Speedfan or mobos suite. CPU_OPT header is for 2nd fan for tower coolers or for AIO pump/fans. It uses same temp sensor as CPU_FAN so it gives same amount of power to both fans.

 

The Corsair fans... I don't really know why you'd want them to blow at max if they do good job when not at max. If you want then to run at full speed, connect them to PSU.
