680 Program Limitations?

I was always a fan of the 680 and always liked it over the 7970 until TimeToLiveCustoms said that he had problems in Vegas with rendering. With a 680, he couldn't completely render videos and would always get an error. Does this have something to do with his system or with all 680s? Any other programs that have problems with 680s?

What error were you getting?

I would assume it is his system, since this sort of problem is generally a software issue.

go for the 7970 if thats all you care about.

the hardware acceleration in Sony Vegas has issues.

With my build when I enable hardware acceleration I'm unable to use trimmer in sony vegas without it crashing,and when I try to render it crashes as well.this is mostly due to driver compatibility as the 29x.xx series drivers seem to work relatively fine with sony vegas.basically you'd need to switch drivers from 29x.xx for rendering and stuff to 310.9 for gaming for the best possible performance.

and I use a gtx 480 in my system by the way.theres quite a few threads about the sony vegas issue
