Hello all, I recently bought a new case (corsair 275r) and have had issues with the standoffs. I have an matx motherboard so I had to move a couple standoffs. I had to use pliers to get them unscrewed as they were extremely stiff and I was at no point able to do it with my fingers. I had the same problem putting the standoffs back in in their new locations. I also found that this was causing paint to strip around the standoff threads. the case didn't come with a standoff tool.

Also. my graphics card is not lining up with the case (the gpu is properly seated) could the problem be my motherboard or the case?

thanks.

Yes, but we'll need you to have your headset in its failed state then answer some questions.

This is making a lot more sense now. Sorry, I posted this response in the wrong thread.

That's okay, don't worry about it

If they are painted on the inside this may happen. The main thing to watch out is that it doesn't flake off in chunks

It depends on what mobo you use. Some cases only support mATX while others are avaliable for different kinds of configurations. Bigger GPUs are preferable with full ATX motherboards, but there are exeptions.

Futureproof your builds and try not to fry anything

I have a cheap matx board in my atx case but plan to upgrade to an atx board. I also have a small single fan gpu.

I managed to get the gpu and case to line up I just had to force the gpu into the slot a bit more. as the retention clip on mobo is quite loose.

thanks for the help. 🙂

The case is painted white. But i am also seeing small black flakes. There where some in the case when I first opened it, (must’ve been from manufacturing) but More came out when moving standoffs. I assume the black flakes are metal.
