Case fan upgrade help

Go to solution Solved by Bombastinator,

10 fans is probably too much.  Even 7fans which would remove the fans of a 360aio is still probably too much.

The big issue with rgb/argb is compatibility.  You need to make sure that your case and all the stuff in the case has a way to be powered and a way to be controlled, and compatibility isn’t guaranteed even sometimes within a brand.  Without knowing the case and motherboard there really isn’t a way to tell if they will be compatible with each other with rgb, let alone if some cooler will be.  The whole concept has become a big mess.  I have been given to understand that argb fixed this to a certain extent. I’m not sure to what degree though.

Budget (including currency): Non exactly

Country: Saudi arabia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, with mining whenever PC is idle

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

RTX 3070 pre LHR

Ryzen 7 3600X

4x8Gb (32gb Ram) 4000MHZ Trident Z G.Skill

Asrock bm550 pro4

Current pc case is unknown

with one 2TB ssd and one 3TB HDD

i have bought this pc PRE built and upgraded my RAM since iam loading a lot of charts for trading in crypto

and i have decided on upgrading my PC case with new fans (not stock fans)

i have searched for PC's case and fans, i have fallen upon corsair 5000D airflow and planning on putting a white 360mm AIO

my question is

which (white) AIO should i use

and is 10 fans too much?

and is my choice of pc case is good?

i also want RGB 😋😋

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

10 fans? thats too much. The number of fans won't increase airflow. The placement will.

I'd probably go with the 4000D, 240mm AIO on the top (exhaust), and then 3 fans in the front (intake), 1 in the back (exhaust). This will be great airflow.

If you want maximised airflow, I'd recommend going with the AIO as a 360mm in front (intake) and 1 fan in the back (exhaust). No top fan or just 1 next to the back fan. So you guide your air more over the components and then out. If you put a fan in the top next to the fron as exhaust, it will basically exhaust fresh air without contributing to airflow. Thats why "too much fans" is a thing.

If you like corsair, they have a white AIO line up. Just get matching fans from the same manufacturer as the AIO and you'll have your RGB galore.

Dont bother with an aio if you arent going to do any sort of overclocking or want your system to be ultra quiet, just get a decent dual tower air cooler like the fuma 2 or even a single tower might work like the se 224 xt or freezer 34

If you do care about overclocking and/or want a super quiet system go for a liquid freezer aio, they will basically obliterate an nh d15 (280mm and up) and pretty much obliterate or beat most aios, including the overpriced corsair crap

Though if you just want a cheap aio go for masterliquid aios

How quiet an AIO is seems to be something of a die roll though.  The problem is bubbles. An AIO that bubbles in it is louder than a loud air cooler. I bought two AIOs and both of them had bubbles that would not go away and were as a result louder than the air cooler I already had. They got shelved. $200 down the drain.
