Budget (including currency): $3000 CAD (flexible)

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Want to start to try some VR and newer AAA games.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Upgrading from 2 560TIs in SLI 2TB HDD 500GB 2.5SSD 16GB RAM i7 K version/16GB RAM (from 7 or 8 years ago), AIO

I wanted to go air cooled for this one and I like the look of some of the beefier air coolers.

Will likely go multimonitor setup 2-3 or one of the new monster curved 49" like the samsung

I have a decent gaming mouse/headset/K95 keyboard

Basically I just need a new rig as its been 7-8 years since I build my original system.  I would love feedback but I was thinking something like this: (I had considered trying to squeeze in a 3080 too)

Not weak but not optimal

Ditch the x570 pro for a b550 a pro or tomahawk, tomahawk for ocing, a pro if you arent ocing

Holy sht that ssd is overpriced, swap it with a kingston a2000 which still has dram

Psu is overpriced, get a revolution df, msi mpg, or corsair rm psu instead, and might aswell get an 850w psu

If you can swap the ram for crucial ballistix 3600mhz cl16 or viper steel 3733 cl17

Swap the cooler for an se 224 xt (non oc) or fuma 2 (oc)

Now with the extra money you might be able to get a 3080(ti)

Thanks for the reply!  The other thing I was think about trying was one of the smaller form factor builds just for something fun and different.  On the b550 what is the advantage of the x570 over b550?  On the ssd I was looking for a gen 4 but maybe the previous gen is good enough?  I wanted a noctua cooler but I can’t get behind the ugly brown fans 🙂
