Windows Update not working

Hello

 

recently i updated my OS to windows 8.1. Since the day i installed it, the windows update has not been working at all. Meaning that i have had to download all the updates using this method - http://m.kapilarya.com/fix-windows-8-1-unable-to-check-for-new-windows-updates . It was suppose to be fixed but wasn't.

 

Has anyone else had this problem recently and fixed it? I have searched forums and im not alone so just wondering.
