Back in 2018 I needed to replace a PSU for an Intel Core2Quad I was using at the time and bought the EVGA 500W W1, upgraded some of the guts on that build a year later to a i3-8100 and have been using the W1 since with no issues. Recently needed to replace the PSU on an Intel i5-4460 so started looking into PSU again and it looks like the W1 wasn't a good choice at the time.

I bought the be quiet! System Power U9 since I needed a PSU anyways and swapped it with the EVGA W1 for the i3-8100 build (no dGPU).

The 4460 still needs a PSU so used the W1, this PC is used as file server and I use Intel QuickSync for encoding (no dGPU).

I'm not worried about data loss and don't care to much about the hardware, just don't want it to be a hazard.

Should I be worried and replace the W1 from a safety perspective?

It's a very budget orientated PSU but it's not dangerous. It'll be fine to use with your i5 4460 system.

Thats good to know it won't be dangerous, but was going through the spreadsheets in the tier thread and one of them says it possibly lacks OTP and OCP?

Although JonnyGuru gave it an 8 back in 2014 from some of the other spreadsheets i've read, to bad the website is now gone.
