Gpu load low

Hello my friends i am having a problem with my games fps so here is my problem 

I have the acer predator helios 300 with the gtx 1660ti and 16 gb ram i7-9750H

So when i first got my laptop and ran metro exodus, cyberpunk 2077,borderlands 3, farcry 5,assassin's creed Valhalla, red dead redemption 2,

My fps was fantastic and i always have my fps counter and gpu usage + temps and cpu usage + temps displayed while playing game.. 

My gpu always was using 98 99 % at 75c to 80c and getting great fps. After a week i started up metro exodus as i normally do and suddenly i started getting 25 fps and 30 fps 40 fps maximum 

I looked at my gpu usage and it was only 50% at 40c temps 

I changed games and it sometimes and same thing (this is all while plugged in btw). 

Does anyone know why my gpu suddenly stopped using its full potential?

Could be Nvidia Optimus. make sure the system knows to use the gpu in Nvidia Control Panel > (on the left) Manage 3D Settings > (scroll through and find)Preferred Graphics Processor > Nvidia GPU
