So I learned a bit more about mining and it turns out I need extremely low tdp for my cpu since I do plan on use the mining rig from time to time I want a somewhat decent cpu. I also learned that spending too much on motherboard and cpu/ram is a horrible idea. So is 10100f a good cpu for mining or is there something better?

For CPU mining, it is only really profitable with AMD CPUs from the last gen or the latest gen. Anything else is too inefficient. The lowest TDP chip is the Ryzen 5 3600, but I doubt you'd get any more than a couple cents a day after electricity costs.

Something like a threadripper (obviously very expensive) or a 16 core Ryzen chip is when it becomes "worth it" in my opinion if your main objective is the money.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

yea I've got 5 6600xt's that I got for 425$ each so I was gon build a lil mining machine but I also wanna game on it and search the web a bit so honestly I think 10100f is a really good cpu for being 100$ + it's brand new, I mean what could go wrong?

it supports a good amount of motherboards that are quite new but that also support 5 gpus at once

so at the end of the day I think i3 10100f isn't a bad deal? yea it's 65 watts and not 50 or so but it'll probably be under 50 while my gpus are mining I'd assume? I really do not want an old cpu because oh I know old cpus very well and trust me they are not fun! Besides the 11th gen i3 will be able to sue windows 11 too while older models will not

idk what do you guys think, is the 10100f a steal, is it a good deal? I mean it is in the top 100 cpus for just 100$

in a month of mining gpus should pay the cpu+motherboard+ram+hdd off
