DRAM not booting

I tried my RAM and a friends RAM from his PC that works and both times the LED on my mobo said that the DRAM is not booting (orange/yellow light). Does this mean the RAM slots are defunct or something else?

 

Specs:

CPU: Ryzen 5 5600x

Mobo: Asus Tuf Gaming X570-Plus (wifi)

GPU: AMD XFX R7770

PSU: Gamdias Kratos M1-750W
