H100i bracket

Okay so I have h100i, and I was doing maintanence and realized that on the backplayte on of the ends is not flush against the mobos, and noticed the nut had broken off, the cooler seems to be in place firm still though, how important is it to replace the bracket? Should I get the intel replacment mounting from corsairs site?

A buddy of mine had a similar issue. He got a free RMA from Corsair. He purchased through Newegg, btw. They sent him the new backplate, and mentioned that wasn't their first time hearing of it. I myself use an H100i currently, and I really don't see that as being a problem, as the cooler is on there very tough, even with just 2 nuts/screws (though I would highly not recommend this.. as it's a water solution at its core!)

 

But, if you are over the 30 days, and it's not too pricey, I would definitely get it replaced from the Corsair site.

I was kinda ignorant as I was happy with my new pcs perfomance, that im passed the 30 days, im like 2 months in, and its on 15 bucks after taxes adn shipping, but I dont verclock, so if it stay cool enough, I think Ill just rteplace the mounitng when I upgrade to a custom loop, and sell the cooler to my friend or on ebay.

Yeah mate, I don't see a problem with that. If you've been going strong as-is for over a month, I don't see anything happening. If anything, gerry-rig (sp?) if you are even remotely worried about it. Otherwise, whether you are overclocking or not, I don't see that as a problem as long as the cooler itself, more specifically the copper plate on it, is firmly seated on your CPU.

Yeah its tight, Im not overclocking didn't get lucky with the chip doesnt go far in enough to be worth reducing the life time, any ways thanks for reassuring me.

Not a problem, and good luck. To give you some piece of mind, my i7-4770K wasn't that lucky either!
