CPU usage dropping to 48% while gaming

Clear the Disable Turbo box and clear the BD PROCHOT box and clear the More Data box. This should help the cause.

While playing games like apex legends and GTA 5, my cpu drops to 48% for close to a minute and then goes back to 100% (it only shows 48% in task manager), CPU clocks drop from 3.30 GHz to 1,58 GHz and so does voltage from 1.27 V to 0.94 V. I was able to recreate the issue in aida64.

CPU temps never exceed 72C so it doesn't seem like a overheating issue.

SPECS:
cpu: I5 2500K
mobo: Intel DH67CL
gpu; RTX 2060

ram: 12 GB (2x 4GB Apacer + 2x 2GB Crucial and Adata)

Well... CPU usage dropping isn't inherently a problem. It's expected for the clockspeed and voltage to drop if the CPU isn't under a lot of load.What do you mean "recreated in AIDA"?

Main: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti, 16 GB 4400 MHz DDR4 Linux - Fedora

"recreated in AIDA" i was just curious if it happened anywhere else. I thought it was something to do with my games but when I saw the same behavior in AIDA so i assumed there is nothing wrong with my games and it has to be something else (sorry for my bad english)

I mean: what exactly did you do in Aida64 and why? What was the result?

oh... so i stress tested my cpu, after some time the clock speed dropped and went back minute later, it does that until i stopped the test

@P-I-N-K-Y Try running ThrottleStop.

https://www.techpowerup.com/download/techpowerup-throttlestop/

Post a screenshot of ThrottleStop when this throttling problem is in progress. No need to include the Task Manager. Also post some screenshots of the TRL window and the TPL window.

Before you start testing, turn on the Log File option so you have a record of your CPU performance. Play a game for at least 15 minutes so there is plenty of data. When finished testing, exit the game and then exit ThrottleStop. The log file will be in your ThrottleStop / Logs folder. Copy and paste the data to http://www.pastebin.com or upload the log file somewhere so I can have a look at it.

It looks like Intel Turbo Boost is disabled so your CPU is running slower than it should be. There might be a few more settings that are not quite right. Show me lots of screenshots and a log file and I should be able to help. Remember to quote me in your reply, @unclewebb
