Mix and match

Hey could I mix ddr4 3000mhz (1x8) with ddr4 3200mhz (2x8) the 3200 have rgb and the board is a gigabyte b365m ds3h WiFi

yes?  But 3 sticks is less than optimal.  You'd probably get overall better performance with just the 2x8GB sticks.

Absolutely you can, just realize that they might not all clock the same way with the same timings, so be prepared for potential performance degradation

dual channel (two matched sticks) will always perform better than 1 or 3.

 

 Mixing and matching ram also makes for more finnicky timings and such.  16GB Dual Channel is probably going to outperform 24GB single in most things.

So overall performance is better not just value or anything I’m just upgrading my ram and don’t wanna waste the other stick
