Apologies if this is the wrong section of the forum for this question.

However, I'm looking for a UPS for both power smoothing, and a small amount of uptime that'd allow me to save my work in the event of a power cut.

What I'd be powering on from the UPS:

  1. 1x PC - 750W PSU
  2. 3x Monitors (2x 1080p, 1x 1440p)
  3. Speakers,
  4. Stand-up desk motor

I'd be looking for a UPS that can deal with this demand as well as giving me some overhead that wouldn't prevent me from upgrading something such as a monitor, or even my PC. I'm not looking for something that'd give me hours of uptime, but at least 15-30 minutes would be ideal.

Thank you.

I use a https://www.amazon.com/APC-Battery-Protector-Back-UPS-BE600M1/dp/B01FWAZEIU

with two PC's, two displays and a bunch of other equipment.

But thats like ~400 watts off the pc's.

APC has a UPS calculator https://www.apc.com/shop/us/en/tools/ups_selector

also this doesn't help as the input is different.

The input of the PSU is what I need to know.

But this might help.

I have a couple of Cyberpower UPS's that have worked out pretty well.

The newest is a LX1500GU which just runs my workstation and monitor. Don't care about speakers of the desk lift.

The LX1500GU has a more 'on-line' system that conditions the output rather than just switching to battery at a set point.

The other one is an older GX1500U powers a NAS and the Ubiquity switches. More of a basic ups.

I had a number of APC units and have supported many, many at work.

The low end units are throw away trash that can't be trusted beyond a couple of short discharges. And replacement batteries cost almost as much as a new unit.

Mid range units are ok. I had some equipment fried by the USB connections ( the USB controller ) used for monitoring.

The high end systems are pretty good, but those aren't home units. They require PM to be fully reliable.

We have also used a number of Liebert/Emerson units and I am not impressed with the longevity of the batteries and the reliability of their self tests ( pass a self test but completely drop the load when the line input fails ). This also applies to the cheaper APC units.
