Hi. Recently I've been facing an issue with my Ryzen system and I'd really appreciate it if someone can help me with it. Below are my specifications

AMD Ryzen 7 3700x

MSI B450 Tomahawk Max

Nvidia GTX 1650 Super

Corsair Vengeance 16×2 - 3200 Mhz

Corsair CX 650M

I have not done any overclocking except for changing the DRAM frequency from default to 3200

So around 3 weeks ago i cleaned my system using an air blower. I was very mindful not to take the blower too close to the components and I stopped the fans from spinning like a turbine while using the blower. After i was done and started the system, the screen froze at MSI Arsenal Gaming screen. I did a hard restart and after that the system was booting, but I wasn't getting a video output. After a few more hard restarts and keeping the system idle for a while, when i tried to switch it on again I got a screen saying Memory Overclock failed. Press F1 to reset BIOS.

I ignored it that time and didn't change anything, and the system was working fine.

Yesterday I got the same problem where i wasn't getting a video output. This time it was taking a lot longer, hence I got very worried. I thought there's a problem with my GPU, so disconnected and connected it again and what not. But it didn't work. So I took out the RAM modules and cleaned them with an eraser and put them back, and this time it started working, but I got the same Memory Overclock failed. Press F1 to reset BIOS screen again.

This time I'm really worried. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Should I reset the DRAM frequency to auto? What can i do to avoid this in the future?

PS. I'm not sure if this information is going to be useful, but once when i was cleaning my system before this I had dropped my system 😬

But nothing happened that time and it worked perfectly

Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

There’s CAS latency to worry about too which is sort of famously the part that makes overclocking memory suck. Or so my limited understanding goes. I know there’s more than one and often at least more than four.  I don’t know how they relate or what they regulate though.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Actually I use my PC for designing and video editing work, not for gaming. So tbh DRAM frequency doesn't really matter to me as much. But I'd like to get the speed I'm paying for 😝

If i get the same problem again I'll just switch the DRAM frequency to default. But I'd really like to know if there's something i can do to get the high speeds and keep my system stable at the same time

There probably is, but memory overclocking is supposed to be massively time consuming and requires a lot of knowledge.  It becomes a question of whether or not the pain is worth the gain.

Oh really? From what I've seen/read online, it is complicated if you wanna get like the ultimately godly performances, where you need to take you system to fight WWIII. All I want is to get the speed I paid for man😂

There may not be a lot of difference between those two.
