Hello, I have been having issues with my mouse that seem to be getting slowly worse. It basically act's like it drops connection momentarily, it doesn't seem to be a lag type issue as it persists outside of gaming on just normal usage. Mostly the mouse won't track properly, but it also won't click correctly at times or act like I released a click. I had a Rival 3 wireless mouse via USB, I went and bought a Corsair one thinking it might have been something to do with that mouse. I switched mouse pads, uninstalled all the programs and reinstalled, tried different USB ports for the dongle, tried a different mouse pad, deleted and reinstalled all the mouse and USB drivers, and also swapped with my wifes Rival 3 wireless to no avail, and I can not for the life of me get my mouse to work properly. I am barely able to navigate to any site to try to trouble shoot stuff. I am kind of afraid it might be mobo related at this point but am unsure of what else to try. I will probably go get a wired mouse here in a day or two and see if it still persists. Any help or ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks. V.

Something could be interfering with the signal since it's wireless.

Probably the best idea.

A little update,

I got a wired mouse on it now and it seems to be no issue. When I had the mice on wireless, I was maybe two feet from the dongle. I can't see it being RF interference being that close with nothing in between the mouse and the dongle. I just want to make sure that I don't have an underlying issue, but I don't know what kind of test I would need to do. My wife's computer that is behind me by about 8 feet had no issues with any of the wireless mice, so I feel I can rule out hardware. I mostly want to keep searching because I prefer wireless and don't want to have to move my desk around to accommodate a wired mouse again.

You can get an extension cable for the dongle that plugs into the USB port.  I have one so that the dongle is within 12 inches of my logitech keyboard and mouse.  I've never had mouse issues other than a sticky mouse pad or battery that needed replacing.
