IIRC Ryzen 4 isn't expected until Q4 2022.

So, hmm, 1151 (300 series) boards is just too expensive at the moment. It looks like this build will end up different.

I have an Asus H97-I board for the i7-4790k sitting on the shelf. I think I will leave the i7-9700f in it's original case. Change pretty much the cooling completely in that case using parts from this build. Put the H97-i in this case with spare m.2 drive (1 TB). This means I will get my primary system up and the secondary system will still be useful.

I will let that wait for a few months to see what shows up on the market.

Hey, have an update. Apparently found a Z390-i Gigabyte board for decently cheap. I tested my wife's old i7-8700K and it works along with my i7-9700f. So, the project can continue!

I have started assembly of the parts and discovered I have to rearrange some items. This is a very tight fit and wouldn't advise someone do it without being able to look at the parts first. But, what the heck let's continue!

The hub is to consolidate all the fans in one place along with the rgb. There is a front panel that goes over this once I fill the system. I added the fill port at this location.

Currently the cpu waterblock is pulling that pump down.. once in place it should level out some.

So, yeah, when I said a tight fit... here is the memory slot. If a board has the memory slot any closer to the edge.. I would have to either remove the fan corners or not fit it.
