gpu using less power than usual?

Go to solution Solved by rmgdnz,

I have the same gpu and the power does cap out around 340W for me. It's possible this person flashed a different BIOS or something.

i have an msi gaming x trio that usually never exceeds 340w under full gaming load at 100% power which is the default on msi afterburner. but for example this fella has like 375w power how? he has the same gaming x trio as mine. check the metro exodus part its like 375w. im also using a 850 w psu from seasonic its a gx850 80+ gold. im using a 5800x stock settings as well

Are you playing at 4k.

The video is 4k gaming and that uses a lot more power than 1440p or 1080p.

When my 5800x and i9 10900k both used FTW3 Ultra 2080 ti the i9 always could get more out of the GPU at 4k. The extra frames did not change the game play but it always won.

My 5800x is using a EVGA XC3 Ultra 3080 ti but it is only has 2 8pins and 366 watts in the bios but it uses 375 watts max in Metro at 4k with RT.

My 3080 is hooked up to a i9 9900k right now and I only have AC:O installed of the games in the video and I am using slightly more power with a higher mhz with slightly less frames. That is where the i9 10900k comes in.
