I got a new build planned for my cousin as a birthday gift to him. I am thinking about which CPU to get. he wants Intel, but with how AMD is being so good right now it's hard for me to recommend it to him. Anyway, here are the CPU and motherboard options I am picking from, please help me out. He uses this PC as his main computer, he uses it for general productivity, schoolwork, gaming (1080p/1440p at least 120fps), streaming, and video editing.

Quick note: All motherboards will be paired with a G.Skill Trident Z RGB kit that is 2x16GB of capacity and running DDR4-3600 CL16. No overclocking will be done. They will be paired with a NZXT Kraken X63 280mm AIO Liquid CPU Cooler. He has an RTX 3070 and he will be playing Call of Duty: Warzone, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, CS:GO, Minecraft, Valorant, FIFA, and occasionally, Fortnite, at the resolutions and settings listed above.

Without further ado, here are the options.

Intel Core i7-10700K 8-core CPU (3.8GHz Base/5.1 GHz Turbo) + Asus ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming ATX LGA1200 Motherboard

Intel Core i9-10850K 10-core CPU (3.6GHz Base/5.2GHz Turbo) + Asus ROG Strix Z490-E Gaming ATX LGA1200 Motherboard

Intel Core i7-11700K 8-core CPU (3.6GHz Base/5.0GHz Turbo) + Asus ROG Strix Z590-E Gaming ATX LGA1200 Motherboard

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-core CPU (3.8GHz Base/4.7GHz Turbo) + Asus ROG Strix B550-E Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard

Edit: I live in the US where there is a Micro Center an hour away from me. I don't have any parts, I just have the 3070 for him. His current computer is just a laptop with an 8th gen Core i5 and integrated graphics.

What country are you in?

Have you bought any parts yet?

Cause nzxt aios are pretty expensive and nzxt cam has been known to cause issues such as freezing, bsoding, etc.

Maybe swap for liquid freezer 280 as that beats the d15 and is quieter aswell

I hate overpriced ram, but atleast it wont cause any issues other than extra money spent, maybe search for cheaper rgb options instead

Those boards are insanely overkill, they are meant for ocing so dont bother

Intel: z490a pro, z490 tomahawk, z490 prime, z4/590 ud, z490 tuf

Amd: b550a pro, b550 tomahawk, b550f

For the cpu, id say 5800x

It has very good single thread, and theres basically no gain if you try ocing it, so not much performance left on the table

Youll prob want either the tomahawk or b550f as those are quite feature rich, and if you arent gonna be running more than 1 gen4 ssd (totally uneccesary for most ppl unless they regularly transfer 4k videos) and the diff between b550 and x570 for all i know is the chipset pcie lanes are all pcie 4.0

Yeah lots of beyond overkill parts here. For cpu it's basically whichever is cheapest the 5800x has the highest single core performance here but the others are all close behind.

Op can easily save multiple hundreds of dollars here by just optimizing the picked parts and for the games they cousin is playing there is by far no need for a system like this.

I'd go with the 5800X or 11700K, out of the options. There's really not much difference between the two, especially for gaming. They'll mostly trade blows in different titles.

However, if you don't plan on overclocking, then there's no point in getting a K SKU Intel or a Z series board. Get an 11700 and B560. You'll still be able to run XMP on any of the 500 series boards.

What PC does he have currently?  May want to just upgrade his a little, since he bought a 3070 he must have a decent foundation already.
