Keyboard Suggestions

Go to solution Solved by FlyingVespa,

Keychron has a decent battery 4000mah on most over their keyboards (240h), they recently also overhauled features and did some tweeks. Shipping cost is about 15-25eu ontop of keyboard price. Gateron switches, but hotswop option,

  • K1 - low profile
    • aliminium body RGB or whiote
    • 104 key or 87 keys
    • fixed gateron red/blue/brown
    •  2000mah battery (up to 190)
    • 5,1 bluetooth (usb c type)
  •  K4 - standard
    • 100 keys
    •  plastic or aliminium body
    • Gateron fix or hot swop red/blue/brown
    • 4000 mah battery
  • Logitect LightSpeed G613
    • Romer-G Tactile mechanical switches
    • AA- batteries 18 months...
  • K73 Corsair
    • cherry Red
    • rechargable, up to 15h with lights 75h without

Most other brands are up to 72h - which can become pretty annoying... unless you are willing to fork out more.

My trusty Corsair Strafe RGB seems to have died after a spilled drink.

Now, seeing that they don't make that keyboard I'm looking for something new but amazon hasn't been the best use, plagued with 10Keyless keyboards. Here are afew factors for what I'm looking for

  • 100% (All keys)

  • Wireless

  • Budget - £120-£135

  • Software controlled RGB

  • Mechanical (Preferably Cherry MX Brown)

  • Wired mode with USB passthrough (this one can be skipped but is highly preferable)

Edit (Also needs connection with USB as I don't have Bluetooth on my PC)

Edit 2 - Needs to be UK layout! (e.g. £ symbol on the "3" and # symbol with "~"

It'll be pretty hard to find what you're looking for because of the wireless part. 100% layout with RGB and USB passthrough is extremely hard to find due to wireless bandwidth and battery constraints.

That being said, the closest thing would probably be a Keychron K4 or one of Logitech's Lightspeed mechanical keyboards, ex. G613 (not that big of a fan of Logitech's keyswitches though). You could possibly look into a custom keyboard, but it might end up costing more than your budget.

If you really need most of those features, I suggest going wired.

Yes because theyve updated it, the direct replacement to the Strafe lineup is the K70. Its decent but nothing mindblowing, much like the Strafe.

But considering you want wireless, might as well go for Keychron's lineup. K1 is their 104-key lineup.

I did look at the K70 but I prefer the more minimalist Strafe.

Do you know if Keychron keyboards can connect with a USB Dongle rather than directly to my PC over bluetooth?

Would you know any good wired keyboards that fit the rest of this criteria?
