The back of the screen being white, just like it could have been any other color?

On some panels the back is white to let some light out to illuminate a logo or so, but other than that there's no particular reason, it could be anything.

Thanks, i needed to replace my screen because my cat slept on my closed laptop and craked the screen. He did it many times before and all the times my screen was ok with the pressure of his body on it. But yesteday the screen didin't survive. My friends put heavy books on top of their closed laptops and nothing happens, but my cat that weighs only 7/8 kilos broke it...
