So guys is it better to get dual Channel ram or should I buy one stick of ram 2 times? For example if a dual channel 16 GB 3000MHz cl16 it's 250$ and 1 stick of 8 GB 3000mhz cl16 its 100$ it's cheaper will it make any difference?

Dual channel ram kit is usually something you would want to go for

But if dual channel kit has absurd prices for some reason then you can just buy 2 single channel ram kits

It's same capacity, same CAS latency, same speed. Buying two single stick kits of it won't be worse than buying a dual-channel kit.

I bought 16GB of server DDR3 as two orders of 8GB sticks. $9.99 for 8GB, ended up being $20 for 16GB of RAM. That RAM is running in dual-channel just fine. And it was $10 cheaper than a dual-channel kit, so win-win.

I think you're asking whether it matters if you buy an actual kit of two or just two separate sticks individually. If that's the case, no there should be no difference, especially if the DIMMs are the same model, from the same manufacturer, with the same clockspeed and timings. If you're mixing two differently specced DIMMs, that could cause issues.

In either case, you definitely want two sticks total, no matter how you get there, as running single channel will have a drastic effect on your performance.

Also, what country are you in? You gave U.S. currency, but those prices are absolutely insane for the U.S.

If you can buy dual channel, grab dual channel since it has almost zero chance of not working with each other properly.

If the dual channel price is shit, and you are going to buy a good brand. You can buy singles.

Some brands switch chips and whatever without proper QC. So you might end up with 2 sticks with different insides eventhough they are from the same brand, model and purchase time.

IMHO that is.

And wow, I ask the same question as @Chris Pratt, because holy shit that's expensive for just a 3000Mhz. Even in my country it doesn't cost that much for a Corsair Dominator Platinum 3600Mhz

There is approximately 99% chance I edited my post

Im from Romania but the prices I gave are as an example not a real price and I heard that if I buy 2 individual stick they might not work so I'm thinking of getting a dual channel anyway I just wanted to make sure everything runs perfectly because it would of been a 10 Ron difference so that's 2€
