Hi,
I want to build a PC in near future (when GPU prices fall). My question is - Is a ryzen 5600X to much for a $1100-$1200 and RTX 3070 build? Should i go down for a Ryzen 3600, and save some money for other parts, or go with tha ryzen 5600 route, and cut some corners on other components. Could you also reccomend a cheaper motherboard, but one that has bios flashback, as i don't have an older cpu?
my current list is: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/PZwwsX

no, the 5600x and 3070 is prefect for around a $1150 - 1250 budget. Your current parts list looks good aswell. Really nice PSU and case choice.

the b550 Tomahawk should have BIOS flashback, and is also a great board.

geometry is hard
b550 > x570

If you're wondering why I dodn't choose storage, that's because I already have a MX500 in my current laptop, I will reuse it in the build

Really good list, only thing i can bash is

silicon power turbine is 10$ cheaper

otherwise nothing wrong with it

Though i prefer intel for budget builds

heres an example of what you can get with intel https://pcpartpicker.com/list/x9px3Z

A modified version of your list

10700f cheap 8 core, you can lock the max boost of 4.8ghz in the bios for max performance

cheap but decent z490 board

fuma 2 cooler so it doesnt overheat

btw by the time the cpu isnt enough the next gen ddr5 platforms would have already come out so you can upgrade to that

I understand, but AMD gives you more performance for the price, and even if it's hard for me, I'm willing to pay a bit more for a lot more performance

Yea 10700f will be beaten in single core but in multicore it will beat the 5600x

Then again for 100$ more than the i7 and 50$ more than the 5600x you can get a 10900f 10 core
