Hello to all. Im gonna try and make it quick.

My system would crash without any word and shutoff completly after 2 seconds of freezing then restart. When its loading windows in the bios screen it can sometimes freeze again. (And then ill have to switch it off) And, it can even not post at all (after the crash). I now loaded safe-mode and got a freeze again but it wont shutdown. I m pretty sure thats failing hardware, but I have no idea who. Btw, while I wrote this post my mobo spammed beep codes while it was frozen in safe mode. I have no idea how many beep codes were there but it went really fast. I think there was something like 30 or so.

Can u please help me pin point who is failing?

Specs:

I7-4790 3.6Ghz

Gigabyte GA-H97-HD3 (mb)

16 GB RAM ddr3

GTX 1060 6GB

Corsair CX550

1tb + 1tb HDD

CPU would be the next bet. How is the CPU being cooled?

Cooling fan. Arctic freezer 7 pro rev 2. Btw after a crash I enter bios to see CPU temps. Its almost always 40C.

40 seems a tad high at idle, when was the last time you re-applied thermal paste, and cleaned the dust out of your system?

But I still think a hardlock in the BIOS screens indicate failing mobo

I recenlty cleaned out the dust from my pc, (I cleaned a lot of dust) I did not re apply thermal paste since I got this system (9 years ago). The lock in the bios screen is happing when windows is loading up. (The circle dots)

That could be a windows thing still, but if you get a hard lock while you are in the BIOS itself...that's the mobo.

It couldn't hurt to re-apply, 9 years is a long time for paste.
