usb doc not recognising USB

Hi, I've had this issue for a while, though my external usb doc doesn't get recognised by my laptop anymore. This results in it not detecting usb devices, though it does detect hdmi, display port and ethernet.

I've tried installing new drivers and uninstalling old ones

a different laptop

and bios update

but it doesn't seem to work

The do is a : HP Elite USB-C Docking Station

Common complaint that it just breaks at random. So yeah you aren't the only one. Dell is the same story with their crap "new" thunderbolt dock

Hp on their own site has a a bunch of bad reviews of the product too.

 

If you need a cheap option that does this all for 1/4th of the price and doesn't randomly break. Anker has their own usb c and usb c thunderbolt docks available for around 50-60$ that just work.
