I'm making this thread to ask for help about deciding on my PC case... I currently have a built gaming PC, but I am going to upgrade almost everything... My CPU is i5 - 9400f. I'll upgrade the CPU to Ryzen 5 5600X. I will also buy Corsair Vengance Pro 2x8 3600MHz. For the GPU, I'll buy a 3060. I've already bought the motherboard (Gigabyte B550 Gaming X 1.0). I have 2 storage units. 1 is for the OS and the other one is for games. I'll also buy about 3 case fans. Corsair 120mm ARGB, hopefully. I have a really bad PC case tho... Armaggeddon Kagami K-3. I really need a new case, with good airflow. I was thinking either a LC Power LC-703B-O, or RAIDMAX CAS01931. They both have mesh front panels, and that's what I'm looking for. Please let me know if you have any other cases to suggest, that have good airflow.

A 9400f machine is still a pretty hot to trot business machine even if it’s no longer a great gamer so there is an argument for reselling it as that.  If this is the case the only thing that might be worth pulling and reusing is the gpu depending on what it is.  One could get some lower end card to do that.  F chips don’t have a functional iGPU so it would need some sort of basic card.

Things that might be usefully saved for your new build if you part out the 9400f machine all of which have various caveats:

memory

video card

case

PSU, (a bunch of caveats on that one)

storage

You say you’re looking for a new case which implies selling the old one off as a working machine.
The big change in cases lately has imho come from storage. SSDs are much smaller and don’t make noise, so quiet cases often have no sound baffling and comcentrate on high airflow to make fans quieter as they are now the primary noise producers in a case.  Before SSDs were dominant in desktops sound baffeling beat airflow because drive noise could not be controlled.

So the question for this one is will you be using any HDDs or water pumps?   If you are a low airflow high sound reduction case may produce less noise than an airflow one but if you aren’t an airflow case may be quieter.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

All I'm looking for is a case with good airflow. I'll use air cooling. No HDDs either.

Best place I know of to determine how good high airflow cases are is GN.  They recently did a case roundup for early 2021 which could be helpful.

Should be an exhaustive review somewhere

I've found the CoolerMaster MasterBox TD500 Mesh. I'll go for that one. The thing is that my motherboard's dimensions are 30.5cm x 24.4cm and the dimensions of the case are 30.48cm x 27cm.

Will it still fit fine?

Should be fine

The Gigabyte is an ATX size board and the case supports ATX boards so you are fine.
