[LFL] - "Prosumer" Edition

Hi there!

 

I'm looking to replace an old laptop I use for college/university, gaming, and light game development.

 

What I have:

i7 - 5700HQ

16GB RAM

Nvida 960M

512GB SSD + 1TB HDD

 

I'm hoping to spend between $1000 - $1500 CAD. Laptop would need to have decentish battery life and stay relatively cool since i would be attending classes.

 

I'm not as concerned with matching CPU class (willing to go r5/i5) since I know power comes at a heat/battery cost.

 

I've had my eye on the Asus TUF A15 and Acer Nitro 5 but am undecided and would be open to other suggestions.
