Hello everyone,

I've recently installed a new motherboard (Aorus B550 Elite) and a new CPU cooler (nzxt kraken x53) but once I booted it up it came with a message saying "Reboot and select proper boot device". I've tried some basic stuff such as changing the boot order, holding ctrl + alt + del and some other stuff nothing worked. I can also see both of my hard drives, my boot ssd and my ssd used to install games.

(Also noticed a weird sound comes from my pc now I've tried unplugging both hard drives and it was still there)

Any help would be appreciated!

Hey, I've been doing some trouble shooting and somewhere it said I should do the following commands which I did and now I'm getting "an operating system wasn't found. try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system"

The commands:

diskpart
select disk 0
list partition
select partition 1
active

I would just reinstall Windows. Windows doesnt like when you change the motherboard as a lot of information is stored on them that it needs (Windows License key is one of many things that is stored on the motherboard).

While windows DO support hotswap, it WILL bring you problems. I once upgraded from an old core 2 duo to a r3 2200g, and while the PC booted fine, it blue screened whenever i tried to login to windows. Of course you will get less problems if your new motherboard still is on the same chipset as the previous one, but its safest to just reinstall it, just to keep bluescreens and other crashes away.
