spanning boot drive (970 evo plus) without raid array

is it possible to span my boot drive with a second same ssd without creating a raid array. i was just looking to expand my storage without running the risks of data loss of a raid array

There's a chance that windows storage spaces may have the ability to expand the logical space on your drive without formatting or increasing the risk associated with a raid failure as the configurations are at the operating system / software level.
