The PSU shouldn't be powered on while you're working on the PC.

 

If it isn't, there is no chance of receiving a shock behind the ordinary minor static shock you might get from walking around on a rug and then touching a doorknob of something.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

My PSU wasn’t on but this whole built has been a mess and I’m worried I’ve ruined the entire thing
