I am quite the beginner when it comes to overclocking so if anything I say or do isn't ideal, please do tell me!

Working on overclocking my gtx 780 (asus DCU II if that matters) with msi afterburner and it won't seem to let me increase the shader clock, the slider is completely faded out.

I've been looking through the settings and as far as I can see there aren't any options that I've missed that would allow for it.

So the question is: Is this a thing? Should I be able to change the shader clock, and if so, how?

Thanks

Don't bother with that, just adjust memory clock, and core clock

You don't have to worry about shader clock for your card. It sounds like you're using a legacy skin of Afterburner. You can change the skins under settings on the tab furthest to the right. If you pick one that doesn't say legacy then it will take away shader slider and you will see a new slider called power limit which may be useful depending on how far you want to overclock.

shader clock is not important ,they come preset at a decent value ,its a 780 dude ,as tough as it gets ,core clock, memory clock and Power limit, and voltage are what matters ,and don't forget to ramp up the fan speed when overclocking
