Hi guys, does anyone know of a worthwhile program that I could use to plan my next build in terms of like a blueprint with sizes? Other then pen and paper.

Any insight would be amazing.

How muchness i want a Cosmos2 but my work space wont allow for the size :(  I'll be working with an Antec 300 I was able to pick up dirt cheap. May I ask what would the basics be to make a design in GIMP? Never used that program before,

gimp is simple enough, its opensourse so thats all good, and it works near enough the same as photoshop, u can use a mouse / graphics tablet with it aswell, overall just use it to draw and make notes, i do suggest doing sketches before hand in a pad to get some basic idea's together.

also u can make layers with gimp so when it comes to designing things with the case just put a pic of it behind a layer then draw what u want on a different layer

make sure u get 2.8, also the UI is really nice cause everything is floating on the screen so u can have youtube in the background and still be able to work

I ended up using Adobe Flash on my work laptop. Never thought of using it as a planning tool. Works nicely tho. GIMP was to technical for me lol got mind boggled withing 5mins :( Only a simply layout up to now but its something I can use to see the space I have to use.

Ye I'll be spraying the inside matte black, and doing the outside (apart from mesh on front) a metallic red. Will be making a window similar to the one I just posted but no vinyl this time. I will, once I actually get hold of the case, be posting a build log of it.

Of course, depending on how detailed you want something, there is always a possibility to make a 3d model of it using blender for example, a open source program. A case is quite a simple thing to make but not really sure if there is a reason to learn something like that for just a simple blueprint. Tho you could get some things insanely detailed.
