Unknown CPU Issues

When I'm playing a game on my laptop, sometimes it plays how I would expect it to, consistent frames until something happens.  Although that's not what happens sometimes. Sometimes I'll load up a game like usual and I'll be fine till I get into actually playing it, I've noticed that sometimes my CPU and "gpu" are at about the same percentage usage and the game will run way better than it should, then about every 30 seconds or so my CPU will use way less than it should and the game is basically unplayable, then it will go back to being better than it should.  I don't ask much from my system other than what it's able to do, but trying to figure this out myself is frustrating because I'm not the best with computers, and I don't really even know what the problem is.  If anybody knows what's going on and can help, that would be great, and btw my temps sit in the mid 70's pretty much all the time, even with a heavier load.

That sounds like thermal throttling to me. That or Intel's Turbo timer running out and then kicking back in later. What happens to the CPU frequency?

Laptops with random throttling problems are common. What laptop model do you have? What CPU does it have? Post a screenshot of CPU-Z.

I have an ASUS Vivobook (I think vivobook 15) with a ryzen 5 3500U mobile.  I think this is all the info that you asked for,  and my frequency goes up if anything I think.

Why does it say Cores 1 Threads 1? The 3500U is a 4c/8t part.

Because its processor #1? I don't know at all, I downloaded it, opened it, and took a ss of what was on the screen.
