RAM upgrade

Hi guys, I want to upgrade my RAM but the stick that I have in my pc is 3-4 year old DDR4 8GB 2400MHz from Gskill and I can't find the same model available in my country. Is it ok to mix brands? Like would it be ok if I bought Hyperx 8gb 2400MHz DDR4 and put it in? Would it work in dual channel? Does memory latency matter and do I need to pay attention to it when buying new stick?
