Where can I get custom screen.

UltraNerd

I don't know what sub-forum to post this on, so I'll just post this in GD.

Where do I get a custom screen for builds!? I scoured the internet, nothing! All I could find was things for big companies, really low quality "custom" OLEDs, and a bunch of weird stuff. I'm trying to build a Switch from the ground up, and you can get everything exept the screen. Even the G/CPU. (Not an SoC. Southbridge.)

I also can't find a suitable smartphone or tablet 'cause...well...Switch. 7.1" displays are hard to come by, and even the Galaxy Fold isn't the right portion. So, in the end, I need a 7.1" dispay the size of the Switch, touch (able? Compatible?) and as high definition as I can afford. The screen for a VR headset might work...

Any ideas?

Does it have to be OLED?
For 70$ you can get a Raspberry PI 7" IPS Touch screen that has normal connectors HDMI and USB.

Brand is Waveshare, you might not have heard of them but they are actually well known for producing small specialized displays (like e-paper) and hats (for Pi, Arduino).

They also have proper documentation (which you often won't find with other Chinese brands), for this 7" IPS they state it is compatible (both video and touch) with Linux and Windows:

IMHO this would be the most hassle free approach for you.

Thanks! I might just do that. The screw instead of adhesive is the biggest problem, but I think hope I can make that work!
