MOBO issue. Doesnt detect GPU

so my 16x1 slot on my mobo(motherboard) wont detect my graphic card but if i put it in my 16x2 slot works fine ive tried another GPU still didnt work but i have a nvme extension (asus hyper M.2) tht runs off of pcie and tht works just fine in my 16x1 slot any ideas why?

 

Specs:

Mobo-Asus X570 plus-wifi

GPU-Auros 3070

CPU-R7 5800x

RAM- Corsair venegence 3200mhz 32GB

PSU- Corsair RX750 Gold+

Sometimes if the slot is left empty for a long time it can get filled with dust and cause it to not work. You should try cleaning the slot with a brush. Also do you mean 1x or 16x pci-e slot?

its always had something in it and 16x i have 2

There shall be an option about GPU detecting in BIOS, set it to auto.
