Hey guys, wanted to share a project that was inspired by the sleeper series on the LTT main channel. Over the past couple of weeks I put together a SFX computer inside an OG NES shell (don't worry, it didn't work when I bought it). The edges and cuts are a little rough (hand tools) but I wanted to share it with the community. This is something I've wanted to do for YEARS and finally got around to it.

The first couple of images were before I realized that the Trident Z RAM was too tall to allow the top cover to sit properly against the base. I've since replaced it with G Skill Aegis memory since it was fairly cheap and low profile.

I don't have any photos during the build process or measurements for the cuts that I made, but if anyone would like some information about how it went together or challenges I ran into don't hesitate to ask!

Specs:

Case - Nintendo Entertainment System (og power / reset work 馃榿)

Motherboard - ASUS ROG Strix B460-I

CPU - Intel i5 10400

GPU - None (using Intel integrated)

RAM - 16GB (2 x 8GB) G Skill Aegis @ 3000 MHz CL 16

PSU - FlexGURU 300W Flex ATX PSU

CPU Cooler - Noctua NH-L9i chromax.black

Boot SSD - 256GB Samsung 950 Pro

Secondary SSD - 2TB Intel 660p

Now to figure out what to do with it 馃槵

Dude, That looks great.聽 I built a NES computer a few years ago.聽 I will get some pictures.聽 I had to add a ton of venting because of heat issues...聽 It was my first custom build.聽 I learned a lot.聽 and made some mistakes.... I have 2 fans in the cartage slot blowing air in and one in the back sucking it out.

My template moved on me and I didn't realize as I was making my venting.聽 I wanted to put a "case" fan blowing air out the mushroom head but I couldn't make it work.聽 If I re-do the build and use a M.2 drive I could have added the mushroom cooling.

That looks sick! Were you able to fit a GPU in yours with the lower mounting position of the motherboard? I was hoping to fit one in mine but there didn't seem to be a ton of room.

My goal was to keep mine looking stock from the front, top and sides so I haven't added any vents. Right now the only intake is the CPU cooler and the only exhaust is the PSU.

I had one in it but it was low quality and my system was still having some heat issues so I pulled it out and when with onboard graphics.聽 I wasn't using it to play games or video edit so I didn't need it.聽

If you are looking to save space you should look at the聽RGEEK 24pin DC ATX PSU 12V DC Input 450W Peak Output Switch DC-DC ATX Pico PSU Mini ITX PC Power adapter.聽 I am using that in my R2D2 build.聽 No internal power supply but a MB with a regular 24 pin.聽聽
