Should I upgrade?

I was thinking about upgrading my current setup (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8WBDW3) with next gen hardware (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sjMPp2).

I know what I have now is already powerful, but I've done some research and I feel like these new parts would give me much better performance.

Please let me know if it's worth it or not.

The included links go to the generic PCPartPicker System Builder website page, please add a specific link to this thread or state what components your current PC has and what components you are thinking about adding / upgrading to.

Hope this information post was helpful  ?,

My bad, the links worked for me though.

The link technically works for us also, it just sends us to one of our own most recent builds, rather than yours

You should be sharing the link found here:

That's because your system hardware configuration is saved via cookies on your local system's browser, we don't have access to those cookies and it brings us to our most recent system hardware configuration. If you are having trouble getting a specific PCPartPicker link then please include screenshots or simply write what components you have now and what you are intending to upgrade to.

Your system is more than perfectly fine already, you'd see no real benefit from upgrading.

PS: $1800 for "upgrades" that don't include a GPU is a terrible value. It looks like you just made a list of basically the most expensive parts you could find. I could build 2 full PC's of equivalent performance for that price.

You likely wouldn't see much benefit going from the 9900k to the 11900k, nor from PCIe Gen 3 to 4, outside of some productivity work cases. In gaming and general computing, I doubt you'd notice a difference in a blind taste test.

The CPU, motherboard, SSD, and RAM upgrades you are planning on wouldn't make any noticeable/worthy improvements to your system's performance. If you're having overheating issues on your current system, try changing the thermal compound and dusting it out with compressed air, if that doesn't work then it may be a good idea to get a better CPU cooler.
